Bring on the Oral Surgery!

I'm trying to stay positive about a root canal I get to have in two weeks. Last week I got feverish and just overall yucky feeling. Turns out I had an abscessed tooth. Fun. So I get to have my first root canal. I've never been sedated before -- that's the scary part for me.

In knitting news:

I'm almost finished with the Big Green Monster. 5 more rounds of stockinette and a crocheted bind off. My crochet skills are a bit on the weak side so it may take several tries to pull this one off. And if the crochet is too complicated then I'll do the HRB bind off.

Tony is more than half way done with his Branching Out. He got bored with it and set it aside for a few days to crank out this doily.

It's an unknown worsted weight yarn on size US8 needles. The pattern is: Liz Snella's Heirloom Doily (Ravelry). Now he's obsessed with doily patterns. I think he's turning into an old lady -- about time in my opinion.

We're both loving Herbert Niebling patterns right now. If I get my hands on the Lotus Flower or Oak patterns, watch out!

In gardening news: we got the second and third raised veggie beds built and got the second bed planted. MMMM: Okra, Roma tomato, cucumber, eggplant, radish, chives, and jalapeno.

We also planted a stick. It doesn't look like much now, but it'll be awesome when it grows. More on the mystery stick to come.

Lastly, here is one of the Daffodils. Isn't she a beauty!

Later,

Eric

Don't buy all of the horror stories, root canals really aren't all that bad, mostly nerve-racking. The center of Tony's doily looks just like that daffodil, don't you think? They're both beautiful.

Ooh! We are garden twins. I used to have a big box but this year went to strips. So much easier for half-assed weeding

My root canal was no big deal at all. Don't worry

I've had root canal a long time ago, and don't remember much about it. I think it took a long time, so just be prepared to listen to some good ipod selections and go away for awhile.

I had three teeth pulled last week, all in one session, because it would be easier. But one broke, and he couldn't get it out, so he sent me to see a surgeon... and I had that done a couple hours later. Yes, I went to work in between appointments, had the surgery during lunch break and was back to work before anyone noticed I was gone! It's a bit uncomfortable, but you go through it. What else to do?

That lace doily is awesome! I'm looking for a good pattern to do a lace shawl, maybe circular, for a family auction. Can't decide what I want to do!!

Yeah, I am agreeing with the other people here: root canals are not that bad. I had one last year and it was really no big deal. I barely felt anything. My mouth hurt for one day and it was more from having my mouth open for a long time.

Good luck! :)

I hope the stick isn't going to be used to prop open your mouth :(

Boo-hiss about root canals--hopefully you are done with it by now.

Good Luck
