Hammers don't make great knitting needles

With all the building going on there wasn't much time for knitting.

I finished the Monkeys! I had some serious pooling issues with the second sock (on top) after the heel turn. I finally broke the yarn and started using the other end. HA! It started pooling with the same color in the same place after two rounds and I couldn't get to stop. Then, luckily, I hit a knot in the yarn (how often do you get to say that hitting a knot is lucky?) so I broke the yarn again and restarted. I managed to move the pool to the top of the sock which I guess is better than my previous attempt.
I really don't care if socks don't match but I was bored with the Yellow all in one spot and didn't want that throughout the entire foot.

Pattern: Monkey by Cookie A.

The ballband didn't see much action. I added a hot pink stripe and will add one more on the next stripe before continuing to the end in the pink/white twist.

Tony BO'd the Elfin. Now it just needs its pom-pom. Neither of us have ever made a pom-pom. I'm so excited to try it!

I finished the first miter square and started the second -- of 80ish.

I bought the yarn to make Shedir. I'm looking forward to trying the Rowan Calmer.

Lastly we ordered a few of the Harmony Wood circular needles from Knitpicks -- US3 16" and US8 16" -- I'm such a sucker for pretty colors.

That's it for this week.

The monkeys are awesome! And the ballband is a really fun color combo... I have that in my stash, and might not have put it together... Hmmm.

Gorgeous socks and what a great color! The Elfin is handsome too. In lieu of a pom, what about a small tassel? Very turkish, very elegant. (Oh no, now I'm remembering Kevin Kline in Wild, Wild West).
