Yarn is my heroin

I have always spent my weekends indulging in my favorite sins: Sloth and Gluttony. But since now I can only see Tony on weekends -- stupid conflicting work schedules -- I've been trying to get off my ass and plan activities that we can do together in the short time we have each week. And although I hate to give up Sloth, I get some Lust in return which takes some of the sting out of the loss.

So most weekends have a bit of shopping involved and maybe a small project. This weekend was no exception. An LYS is moving and Everything must go! -- a very dangerous thing to say to someone who loves to bargain shop. This week, their stock is only 35% off so we didn't get much. But when the remaining stock goes on sale for half off, you know I'll be camped out in front of the store waiting to snatch up everything I can afford -- in a related story, I'm selling a kidney for cheap.

I loves me some Cashsoft DK! I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it but that's not really important. What matters is that 4 balls only cost me $24 -- not a huge bargain, I know, but I am trying to be supportive of an LYS. Of course Tony bought the Regia -- I love that he is so easily entertained by self-striping sock yarn. And the needles were just for fun. It's hard to see the needles in my crappy picture, but they are Serendipity Designs Handcrafted Knitting Needles.

And while shopping was all fine and good, the real quality time came in the form of a small project. We've been looking for a new computer desk for about a month now. The old one . . . well, it was just busted: a real eye-sore. I bought it at Wal-mart 15 years ago for $20 and it looked it. Its replacement is certainly nothing fancy, but at least I'm not concerned that it will collapse anytime soon.

We spent 4 hours assembling it -- something I find extremely entertaining -- and another hour rearranging furniture. So all in all, it made for a great way to spend an afternoon.

How funny, sounds like a really good trade off....the lust and sloth bit.
Oh, I know, the lys shutting down and reopening in a new location and the sale!!!!!
I've been trying to stay away though, but I know I'm going to need to check what they'll put on the 50%-75% off before they shut their current doors.
Nice pc desk.

You are such a nut! I love you...and miss you. I drove by your house the other day. Thought about stopping, but had stuff to do. I'm moving back to BA next week. Hope we can get together sometime. I dont want to take up any of your time with your man, so maybe sometime during the week. Let me know!

We might have to put our heads together on the red cotton beast, there is a part of the pattern that seems a little unclear to me as well.
